The Two Greatest Commandments & Washing Feet

Is the central “truth” of the Elder’s commendation to Gaius that he is living out the two greatest commandments: love the Lord they God with all thy heart, soul, mind, strength; and love they neighbor as thyself? (Mk 12:29-31.)

Is Gaius also being commended because of his Christ-like-ness? This passage calls to my mind Jesus’ washing the disciples feet (Jn 13:4-5). Perhaps, this is a recognition that Gaius was living this out.
