While the Holy Spirit’s work is not expressed directly, the mark of that work is clear and pronounced. The Holy Spirit is and reveals all truth. So, Gaius’s ability to walk in the truth and Demetrius’s reputation for truthfulness are the results of the Holy Spirit in action. The Holy Spirt is clearly at work in releasing fruit in Gaius’s and John’s lives — particularly joy and love here. The Holy Spirit is doubtless responsible for prosperity of Gaius’s soul!
